In the new morning’s light
All my demons of the night
Begin to slowly fade away
With the promise of a new day
Looking around, I again wonder why
I once again felt the need of someone new
To hold me tight, in the darkness of the night
When soon they will be gone too
Just like this light and the new morning’s dew
In the new morning’s piercing light
I experience visions of pure clarity
Lasting sometimes only for a moment or two
As the light of revelation shines into my soul
Forcing me to look at my heart, what makes me whole
Questioning if my actions of yesterday were right
Giving me new hope, that today
I will somehow for my life find a better way
But just like that special moment of a new morning’s light
Everything so quickly begins to fade away
For a moment, time itself seems to stand still
As the new morning’s light fills the room
Not a sound to be heard except the beating of my own heart
With nobody else’s expectation to be met
I am a fragile insect dancing in the new morning’s light
It’s all a dream that I know will all too soon blow away
Becoming only another jaded memory of today
But if I could only for some stay here a little longer
Then maybe I would have more strength to face the new day
